“Ghost of a Flea by William Blake” was completed between 1819 and 1820, as part of a series depicting "Visionary Heads" — Brilliant! How can 360° resist?
Thank you for calling this out. Swan's haircut and its interpretations by the characters he interacts with become a key driver to the story. I shared this book with several people before I started publishing it here and I don't recall anyone saying anything about the haircut. (Of course I didn't have the illustration then). I wasn't sure if readers would look up Ghost of a Flea online or not. You are the first reader who seemed to catch on! The Ghost is an interesting work and absolutely apt for Swan to wear it on the back of his head.
